Physical description

One of a pair of circular footstools with wooden base and four scrolled legs. The footstool has a cushion upholstered in a loop pile textile with abstract pattern in red, blue and green on a dark green background. The upholstery fabric is secured using a narrow band of brown leather held in place by a series of nails covered with leather. On the underside of the wooden base is a removable square panel.

The footstool cover has glass bead decoration and glass bead fringing. The beaded central design is made up of small white, grey, red and green glass beads. The design depicts 7 lilies with stems and leaves on a dark red background with a narrow white border. The fringing which runs around the edge of the central design is made up of white/grey cylindrical glass beads threaded onto looped white cotton.
