Physical description

A porcelain flowerpot with matching shallow dish stand which is one of a pair with 184/2015-2. The total height of the flower pot when placed in the stand is 13.5cm.

The flowerpot has a narrow gilded rim. A 5cm band runs around the top of the flowerpot with a repeating neoclassical Greek key, floral and foliate gold motif on a dark blue ground. The main body of the flowerpot is decorated with floral garlands with gold leaves and dark blue blooms. There is a hole in the base of the pot to allow to water drainage and the pot is marked with a blue hollow crescent in the underglaze.

The stand is a shallow dish with a gilt rim and a similar band of neoclassical Greek gold decoration. It measures 14.4cm in diameter and 4.5cm in height.
