Physical description

Ladder back arm chair with rush seat. 3 ladders in back with arched tops & straight along the bottom. A flattened curved top rail joins the back uprights, with 2 domed through-morticed turnings.
decoratively turned front stretcher type I; bar top with back uprights with domed through tenons protruding, a feature of Eastern counties; legs tapered at feet; straight rectangular turned & shaped arms; underarm turning regionally specific
Chair back: ladder back with 3 ladders with arched tops; curved flattened bar top rail joins turned back posts with domed through tenons protruding

Front legs: legs turned & continuous with underarm support; feet continuous with legs & tapered
Back legs: plain turned legs tapered at feet
Feet: feet continuous with leg & tapered
Stretcher detail: box form, type EEi; double plain turned side stretchers
Front stretcher: decoratively turned stretcher type I
Back stretcher: double plain turned stretchers
Arm: straight rectangular turned & shaped arms; turned section morticed into back uprights
Underarm supports: regionally specific & decoratively turned underarm support continuous with front leg
Seat: rush seat with wooden edge strips missing
