Physical description

Splat back side chair with a recently replaced rush seat; pierced splat with 3 long piercings n the back is supported between a shaped top rail & a pedestal at seat level
decoratively turned front stretcher type II; rare pierced 'wheatsheaf' motif splat a Lincs tradition
Chair back: splat supported by shaped top rail & pedestal at seat level; turned back posts
Splat type: central pierced splat with 3 long piercings in the back, 'wheatsheaf' motif
Front legs: legs turned & tapered with decoratively turned section near seat; legs morticed into square corners of seat frame; pad feet with under pad
Back legs: plain turned legs tapered at feet
Feet: front: pad feet with under pad; back: continuous with leg & tapered
Stretcher detail: box form, type EEi; double plain turned side stretchers
Front stretcher: decoratively turned type II
Back stretcher: double plain turned stretchers

Seat: rush seat with wooden edge strips missing
