Physical description

Glazed earthenware side plate in a semi-matt cream ground with brown flecks. The plate has sloping sides and the rim is edged with a rough brown line formed from iron oxide. It is decorated with two concentric circles, the inner one is orange and the outer is yellow, more brown lines separate them. It has a diameter of 18 cm and a height of 1.8 cm. The manufacturer's mark is stamped on the base; it reads ‘Sun / Stonehenge / Midwinter / MADE IN ENGLAND / 6 / 34’. There are some scratch marks on the base and top.
