Physical description
Porcelain saucer, moulded with a bracket-lobed rim, painted in underglaze blue. The central reserve, which is framed by two concentric lobed circles, shows a design with two ladies in a garden, seated on an ornamental rock, with foliage around them and part of a bridge to one side. On the rim are sixteen radiating petal panels, alternating between scrolling motifs and single flower heads with foliage. The rim is decorated with a diaper pattern alternating with a simplified wave motif. On the reverse of the saucer, sixteen radiating panels rise from the foot, which is framed by a blue circle, the panels alternating between small scenes and vertical lines. The scenes themselves show ladies in a landscape alternating with plain landscapes. Around the rim of the underside is a row of separated flower heads and leaves.
