Physical description
The spoon has an apostle knop which shows considerable wear making the saint unidentifiable. The figure appears to hold something in each hand, suggesting a possible identification of either Christ, who holds the Orb and Cross or St. John who holds a cup.The figure has no nimbus. The stem has a hexagonal cross-section which is narrow at the distal end and flattens and widens towards the junction with the bowl. The bowl is almost round. The bowl is struck with a mark on the inside, near the junction with the stem. There are scratches all over the surface and the patina is more lustrous on the face than on the back of the spoon.
