Physical description

Cast iron fireback with an integrated grate component. The fireback has an arched top and is decorated with a vase containing roses and other floral motifs with a beaded arched border. The outer panel has a trailing foliate border, and the fireback is surmounted by sea-monsters. It is set above a clay fire brick. The grate has a basket front with four undulating bars. The side of the grate has three lower bars of lozenge cross-section, the top bars having a pointed oval cross-section. The uprights are square and have turned finials and feet. The grill base is detachable.
