Physical description

Oil painting on canvas, framed and glazed in a carved and giltwood picture frame.

Content description

It shows a gravel path bordered by a lawn, with a long border of mature shrubs and trees, with a low edging plant, to the left. On the right hand side of the picture there is a brown tree or shrub in the foreground and a rather squat stone urn on a pedestal in the middle distance. Beyond this part of a white painted building with a greenhouse or conservatory can be seen, with a glimpse of another, stone or brick, building and some dark trees in the background. The painting is signed 'J. J. Tissot' at the bottom right hand corner.
