Glazed earthenware vase with a globular ribbed body decorated with irises painted in magenta, mustard yellow and dark violet, with gilt that appears to be sponged on around three of the flowerheads on one side of the vase and around the foot of the vase. The body is ribbed, and is marked on the base with a printed castle shape in black containing the initals AA, with BONN written beneath, and the numbers 5873 5699 16 painted in blue.
The collar, lid with a finial and semi-circular curved handle with a central twist are made from electrolated nickel silver; the reverse of the lid is stamped E.P.N.S.
