Physical description
Campus self-assembly highback armchair of beech frame and upholstered seat and back cushion. The beech frame has a clear lacquer finish. The self-assembly chair consists of two side frames with a circular upright at each end, connected by two rectangular stretchers with rounded edges. These are connected by a front and back stretcher. The seat cushion is supported by a large sheet of black rubber, the original was replaced in 1984, manufactured by Pirelli, which is attached to the four uprights by metal supports. The seat back tapers outwards, changing to a steeper gradient nearer the top, marked by a horizontal seam across the fabric. The rectangular seat cushion cover has a large brown stain in the centre and two smaller white glue (?) stains.
