Physical description

Hitachi Nicam stereo video recorder, model VTF64IL, with dark grey/black plastic casing. The video recorder is flat and rectangular, but with a slightly rounded front. There is a slot with a flap for inserting video tapes. On the left and the right of the video front there are raised semi-circular pads with buttons set within. On the left hand side is the on/off button, along with 'VHS' in white print, and 'Videoplus.' To the right are play and fast forward buttons. Below the video insert slot is a plastic screen shielding the video recorder's clock/timer. The buttons close to the timer are for pausing/recording. 'Hitachi' is inscribed in silver on the front of the video insert slot. The video recorder rests on two plastic feet which curve inwards. At the back of the video recorder there are two black leads, one is for attaching the recorder to the television, the other for plugging it in. On the reverse of the video recorder there is a white label with black print with details concerning the make of the video including the serial no: E70700044, and 'Made in Europe.'
