Physical description

Sterling silver teapot with a lid and an arched laminated teak handle. The lid is made of a circular disk of silver which sits in a wooden ring made up of strips of laminated teak. The body of the teapot is made of a series of squat cylinders which spread out from the rim in a soft curve to form a ledge which supports the base of the spout and the handle. The vertical face of the ledge is pitted and matt-finished in contrast to the rest of the teapot which is smooth and highly polished. The teapot handle cantilevers off the ledge and bends back over the lid as an arch terminating in mid air on the centre line of the vessel. The handle is made of strips of laminated teak which is held to the pot at the base of the handle by two small silver rivets.
