This large, abstract painting is in oil on canvas. The picture is made up of large rectilinear areas of colour, mainly blues and bronzes. The central, vertical band has areas of deep blue, beneath which is a narrow band of a brighter blue, with a narrow border of bronze above and below. Below this is another block of blues. To the left is a vertical strip of bronze paint streaked over blue, and to the right is a vertical strip of bronze, then bright blue and finally, on the extreme right hand side, a vertical strip of blue/grey.
On the back of the canvas is an inscription in blue fibre pen, probably written by the artist herself, which gives her name, the date and title of the work, and includes an arrow indicating which way up the picture should be hung. The canvas is unframed.

'Untitled (Blues and Bronze)' was purchased in 1998 from Will's Art Warehouse, a Parson's Green gallery specialising in affordable art for the home. A brochure produced by the gallery at that time described Julia Robinson as 'one of our most popular artists'. Large abstract paintings with a strong colour theme, such as this, often featured in open-plan loft apartments in buildings converted from commercial use, such as nineteenth-century warehouses.
