Caption for Exploring 20th Century London website:
Designer/maker Sophie Cook made these hand-thrown porcelain vessels in her studio in Deptford, around 1998. She's written that only about half of all the pieces she makes survive the process, and the translucence of these three survivors - porcelain is slightly translucent when hard - is a reminder of the medium's fragility.
