Caption for Exploring 20th Century London website:
The neck of this blown glass decanter is ringed by a silver collar, which was made by a London firm of silversmiths, Henry Hobson & Son, in 1934. The origins of the glass itself are rather obscure, although it is possibly Continental - Hobson & Son listed themselves as "foreign importers". Once it had arrived in their hands, they mounted their own silver onto the decanter before selling it on.
