Brief description

Square storage table unit with a removable lid, made from teak-veneered plywood and containing a shelf inside, manufactured by Finmar Ltd. and retailed by Heal's in c.1955. It was donated by the son of the original owners and there is a Documenting Homes collection associated with this object, 221/2011.

Physical description

Storage table unit of square form of teak-veneered plywood with a removable lid/top which is hinged down the middle. On either side of the hinge is a brass handle set into the table top/lid. Beneath the top is a storage space containing a sliding beech or birch tray on black painted runners. In the inside corners of the base or storage unit are light-coloured braces of the same type as found in the bases of the seat storage units. The storage table unit is mounted on four castors. There is a large black, inky ring on the top and some scratches.
