Brief description
Dining chair with a stained oak and beech frame and drop-in seat with replacement brown rexine upholstery, model 3A from the 'Chiltern' range, marked on the frame 'CC41 460', manufactured by Hughenden Chair & Furniture Works Ltd., High Wycombe under the Utility Scheme, 1943-1948. Possibly retailed by P.T.Perkins Ltd. of Clarence Road, Clapton, E5 in 1946.

Physical description
This Utility dining chair has an oak and beech frame and a drop-in seat covered with brown rexine. It has four legs, of square cross-section, braced front to back on each side and once from side to side. The frame of the backrest is curved at the top and has three vertical splats within it, which are made from beech. There is decorative carving in the middle at the top of the backrest which depicting flowers and leaves. The Utility mark and manufacturer's license number (CC41 460) are stamped on the wooden frame on the inside of the back seat rail and on the underside of the drop-in seat.
