Physical description
Earthenware copper lustre vase, broader at the shoulder than the foot, narrowing from the shoulder to a short cylindrical neck and everted rim. It has Latin script in white running along the shoulder which reads: "Qui non est hodie, cras minus aptus erit".
The green-glazed base has six stilt marks in sets of two, the impressed shape number 2671 and the Pilkington stamp, a P in a Lancastrian rose, with the words ROYAL LANCASTRIAN / ENGLAND below it.
