Painting, oil on board, signed 'AE Chalon R.A.' at the bottom right hand corner. It is framed in a plain, moulded gilt wood frame, and glazed.

Content description

This painting is a group portrait of a woman with two children. The woman is shown seated on a couch upholstered in red fabric. She has her arms around two children: the younger is seated on her left, while the elder girl stands on her right.The two children are dressed in high waisted muslin dresses, while the mother is wearing a bronze coloured velvet dress with bands of dark blue velvet around the neck and hem. A large patterned shawl is draped around the group.
