TV22 television
Bakelite case
Manufactured by Bush, England, designed 1950
The competition to bring television to the masses was a truly international endeavour. By the time the BBC began television broadcasting in 1936, eleven different countries had attempted (with varying degrees of success) to develop the technology to do the same, and each is hailed in its own country as the ‘inventor’. Today 97% of British households have at least one television.
