Ladder back side chair with two decoratively turned front stretchers and a rush seat. This chair is attributed to Lincolnshire although the maker is unknown. It was probably made c.1780-1820.

Physical description

Ladder back side chair, rush seat with residues of blue paint, and original edging strips. 4 ladders in the back, with arched tops & flowing upward indentations below. Straight turned front legs, connected by 2 decoratively turned stretchers.

Front legs: turned legs with decorative turned section near seat & single ring near tapered feet; legs morticed into square corners of seat frame

Feet: continuous with leg & tapered
